Do you remember the last time someone disagrees with something you strongly believes in? Then you immediately build up your defense shield and countered everything they say? After that, you didn’t really feel that good?
We all do. But here’s something we can try the next time if such an occurrence happens.
Always keep in mind that whatever it is, always remain attentive and respectful.
Some sales people keep talking, countering every objection thrown at them, but they leave the sales meeting empty handed. That’s because when we win a conversation, more often, we’ll lose the sales.
Listen more than we talk. That’s why God gives us two ears and one mouth. We don’t need to win every conversation. Unless we are in a debate.
People who remain humble and receptive receives more. More suggestions and ideas. Learn to remain calm so we will not react to everything that don’t suit our liking. Be thankful after an idea is shared to us.
Whether the suggestion is practical or not, bring it back to consider. Not every suggestion will be good. But if we can find one good one in every hundred, we are already a better person then before.
